Josh Bourassa - True Kustom Industries

For those who haven’t heard of Josh Bourassa, get ready to embrace yourselves! Josh is an amazing custom airbrush artist from True Kustom Industries, Littleton, Colorado and has been a loyal Matrix System customer for the past 5 years. In 2008, Josh was featured inside the Matrix System booth at SEMA giving airbrush demonstrations while showing off his creative skill with Aqualution, Matrix’s waterborne basecoat.

Personal:

Josh grew up building hot rods and prepping cars for paint with his father, which allowed him the opportunity to be handed an airbrush early on as a child. When it came time for college, he enrolled in some art classes where he learned to fine tune his creative imagination. While in college, Josh saw the motorcycle industry start to take off and he knew what he had to do. After painting some sample pieces and displaying his artwork at a few shows, he knew that his career painting bikes was about to take off.

In 2005, after many years of custom painting for other small businesses, Josh made the leap and opened his own business – True Kustom Industries. It was here that Josh was introduced to Matrix System, where he was given a sample of the MS-42 clearcoat to try out. After using it he was hooked. “The fact that I was very familiar with a competitor paint system and the Matrix numbering system was similar also made the decision extremely easy to make,” stated Josh. “I love the product. It was an easy system to get into and is still very easy to use, not to mention I haven’t had a paint failure to date.”

Being an airbrush artist, is something that comes easy for Josh. He is well known for his design and airbrush capabilities, which have allowed him to stand out. The FX Series® line of custom colors is what he is most familiar with. Josh says, “The system works great, the candies are strong and easy to shoot. The metallics and pearls are bright and consistent and the paint chip system helps me sell colors all the time. Getting into a mix system has helped me tremendously. Easy access to all the colors I need and the price point has added padding to my bottom line.”

Versatility, durability, and cost effectiveness. I have been using Matrix for 5 years now and have not had a paint system failure to date. My business model covers many bases, ranging from collision repair on OEM auto and motorcycles to full custom paint and airbrushing.
